Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit this website or register your interest in Splitdesk, why we collect it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
1. Who we are
Splitdesk is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. This means we decide how and why it is used.
For any question about this policy or your personal data, email support@splitdesk.com.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
When you register your interest using a form on this site, we collect:
- your work email address (required)
- your name (optional)
- your agency's name (optional)
- the size of your team (optional)
Information collected automatically
When you submit a form, we also record:
- the date and time you registered
- which form on the page you used
- the country your connection comes from, worked out from your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself.
- your browser's user agent (the browser and operating system you use)
Our hosting provider also processes your IP address and basic request information to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. See section 4.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this site, and we do not ask for any special category data (such as health or ethnicity). Please do not include any in the free-text fields.
3. How we use it and our lawful basis
UK GDPR requires us to have a lawful basis for each use of your personal data. Ours are:
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Add you to our early access list and email you when your access is ready | Consent: you asked us to by submitting the form. You can withdraw consent at any time. |
| Contact you to set up your account and book an onboarding call, using your name, agency and team size | Consent, as above |
| Understand interest in Splitdesk, for example how many agencies of each size have registered, and where | Legitimate interests: planning our launch. We use this information in aggregate and it does not affect you individually. |
| Detect and block spam and abuse of our forms | Legitimate interests: keeping the site and our list secure and accurate |
We will only send you emails about your access to Splitdesk. We will not send you general marketing unless you separately agree to it, and every email we send will include a way to opt out. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
5. International transfers
Your personal data is stored and processed on Cloudflare servers located in the United Kingdom. We do not transfer your personal data outside the UK.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your registration until you ask us to delete it, or for 12 months after Splitdesk launches publicly, whichever comes first. If you become a customer, the Splitdesk product's privacy policy then applies to your account data. We delete or anonymise data we no longer need.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy
- rectification of data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- erasure of your data, for example if you no longer want to hear from us
- restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances
- object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests
- data portability: to receive the data you gave us in a commonly used, machine-readable format
- withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect anything we did with your data before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, email support@splitdesk.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act. We will reply within one month, which we can extend by up to two further months for complex requests; we will tell you if we need to. Making a request is usually free.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please email support@splitdesk.com so we can try to put it right.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when Splitdesk launches. We will post the new version on this page with a new "last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will email you before it takes effect.
